Daniel Kunitz is the editor in chief of Sculpture magazine and the former editor in chief of Modern Painters magazine. From 1995 to 2000, he served as senior and then managing editor of The Paris Review, and thereafter was the US editor of Art Review, literary editor of Details, and chief art critic at The New York Sun. He was the founding editor of Mediabistro.com and contributed as a regular critic to the Village Voice. His essays, features, and reviews have appeared in numerous publications, including Harper'sVanity FairArt & AuctionARTnewsTLSBookforum, and The Wall Street Journal. He is also on the faculty of MFA Art Practice at the School of Visual Arts, New York. His most recent book is Lift: Fitness Culture, from Naked Greeks and Acrobats to Jazzercise and Ninja Warriors (HarperCollins).
