Mingying (Angela) Lu, Class of 2024

Mingying (Angela) Lu (Shenzhen, China) is a curator, contemporary jeweler, and gemstone appraiser. She received her B.A. in Jewelry Design in 2020 from Pratt Institute and certificates of GIA Graduate Colored Stones, GIA Graduate Gemologist, and GIA Graduate Diamonds. In 2021, Lu interned as a museum guide, curatorial assistant, and exhibition derivatives designer at Power Station of Art, Shanghai. During her internship, she participated in exhibitions, including The 13th Shanghai Biennale: Bodies of Water, Trees, Tintin and Hergé, PSA Collection Series: Liang Shaoji: A Silky Entanglement, and John Hejduk: Shanghai Masque. Using contemporary art jewelry as a starting point, she hopes to continue to expand her interest in all forms of modern art and to explore the future of art in its close connection to everyday human life.
