The School of Visual Arts is pleased to present Moving Constants, curated by MA Curatorial Practice student Daniela Marín Aristizábal. Shifting between allegorical and metaphorical expressions, Moving Constants aims to illustrate some of the abstract characteristics of the horizon by focusing on three particular aspects associated with the phenomenon of migration: its dichotomous value, its referential force, and its dissociative capacity. By showcasing the work of six artists who have approached movement from a broad perspective, the show will attempt to link these three inner features with human and animal displacement, expanding the horizon’s poetic value and transversality towards the constant shifting of life. The exhibition seeks to provide a different perspective on the horizon, asserti its symbolic force in relation to some of the greatest challenges facing humanity, such as forced migration and the never-ending human desire to adjust to the shifting conditions of time and nature.
