Jasa McKenzie (She/her/hers) is a curator based between Southern California and Minneapolis, MN. She holds a master’s degree in Curatorial Practice from the School of Visual Arts in New York City in 2018 and a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from Augsburg College in Minneapolis. She is the first-place recipient of the 2017-18 Apexart Exhibition Franchise Program, which resulted in the exhibition Absences in Nagoya, Japan. Her writing has been featured in Artspeak, Daily Serving, and Visual Opinion. She is the creator and co-host of SOTA: State of the Arts–a podcast addressing critical issues in the realm of contemporary art. She also co-founded SOTA Projects to produce pop up exhibitions and programming in the Twin Cities. She currently sits on the board of the Catacomb Collective, a performing arts nonprofit in Minneapolis. Since 2018, she has been a part of the curatorial team of Desert X, an international contemporary art biennial set in the desert of Southern California.
