Sara Raza brings to our program her experience from a remarkable breadth of institutional positions, including, most recently, UBS MAP Curator for the Middle East and North Africa at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum; Associate Curator at the Maraya Art Center in Sharjah; Curator of Public Programs at Tate Modern in London; and Assistant Curator at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin. In 2019, she was appointed the first guest curator at the Rubin Museum of Art for the Year, organizing the exhibition “Clapping with Stones: Art & Acts of Resistance.” Sara is the West and Central Asia editor for ArtAsiaPacific and runs her own independent global curatorial and visual cultures studio practice in New York, Punk Orientalism. She is the author of Punk Orientalism: The Art of Rebellion published in 2022 by Black Dog Press.
