November 10 - November 27, 2021

The theme of An Endless Journey revolves around human experiences across time. It addresses society's unhealthy fascination with destruction and the negative impact on our lives. It explores a triptych, showing the beginning, erosion, and destruction in human lives in times of crisis. The exhibition explores traumatic experiences that have an enormous impact on people's minds and memories and are carried to the individual's death. It delves deeper into such events in history that have led to human suffering on a massive scale, exploring the emotions behind them. The exhibition is a journey in the life of humans through these hurdles till they reach death and the way the people embrace death which is the final experience in a human's life. These collective memories of suffering in times of mass crisis are passed on to future generations, creating a cycle of traumatic experiences. One can never get rid of them from their memory.

The artist takes inspiration from the auto-destructive method of art-making. It follows unique practices by taking everyday objects and causing damage. Destruction is a part of the process of creating the artwork. It takes an interest in why society invests in the creation and equally why it invests in destruction.

Anoushka Bhalla's series of installation works introspect on the nature of grief and violence, time and decay, life and death and the sensuousness of the human flesh but mostly reflects on the nature of trauma. It also investigates on the essence of death. Works are thus a purgation from the strict stoicism instilled within us.

The show takes you through these experiences with introspection through the works of artists from very different cultures and backgrounds. It is an investigation through different mediums and methods of art-making. It gives you an opportunity to reflect and brings to light the ideas around destruction, uncertainty and traumatic events in the life of a human that are not talked about.
